Reobijn produces a so-called suction filter for a first tier supplier in the automotive industry.

The end customer is a leading manufacturer of manual, automatic, and hybrid transmissions and dual clutches for the automotive industry.

The intake filter, in this case for an automatic transmission for a Ferrari model, is made of a glass fiber reinforced polyamide and has the task of filtering out dirt that could reduce, or even damage, the performance of the transmission.

This suction filter is a product completely composed by Reobijn. The following operations are performed:

1. A plastic top and a plastic cover are injection molded
2. A metal mesh (filter gauze) is connected to the plastic top by ultrasonic welding
3. Top and cover are connected, also by ultrasonic welding
4. Two metal inserts are then applied by means of ultrasonic penetration (also called insertion). The end product can then be screwed on.
