Injection molding

So what exactly happens during injection molding? Plastic granulate is heated and then liquid injected under high pressure into a mould. When cooled, a robot removes it from the mold cavity. High-quality plastic products can be made with this form of manufacturing in all shapes and sizes.

In addition to conventional injection molding, Reobijn also specializes in 2K injection molding and overmolding (insert molding and outsert molding). With overmolding, an extra layer of plastic is applied to the existing product or part.

Modern machinery

Reobijn’s holy grail is a modern and extensive machine park ranging from 25 to 800 tons of clamping force. All machines, including various 2-component injection molding machines, are equipped with advanced robots. This wonderful machine park is operated by a skilled team that produces 24 hours a day in a three-shift operation, five days a week.

To ensure quality and timely deliveries, production is monitored by SPC (Statistical Process Control). Reobijn works according to the principles of lean manufacturing and applies the methodologies of, among others, 5S and SMED.

In order to effectively respond to the growing demand for larger plastic products, Reobijn is currently working on a sustainable expansion of more than 2,000 m2. We will install larger machines with a clamping force of up to 1700 tons in this new production facility. This makes it possible to make products with larger dimensions, up to a weight of approx. 10 kg.

2K injection molding

During this process, two types of granulate are heated and injected by one machine, which yields many advantages. Products consisting of multiple components or colors can now be produced in one go. A phase of the assembly process is often omitted, which saves costs.
2K injection molding offers more possibilities in terms of development and design, so that an accurate production process can be realized with smart solutions.
