Last Friday, we bid farewell to a true Reobijn legend. Our colleague Johan Kwast, now 80 years old, is officially retiring after an incredible 63.5 years of service. Although he has been receiving his pension for the past 15 years, Johan was still showing up every morning around six o’clock at Reobijn in Haaksbergen.
Johan started his career at Reobijn in 1961, when the company was still based in Hengelo. As a true ‘jack-of-all-trades,’ he was always there for the company and our customers. Back then, he even delivered products by bicycle!
In 2009, he officially retired, but thanks to his dedication and commitment, we agreed that he would continue working for four hours a day, as long as he wanted. What followed were another 15 inspiring years full of dedication and passion for his work.
We are incredibly grateful to Johan for everything he has contributed to Reobijn. His work ethic, loyalty, and humor will always stay with us. Johan, you are an example to us all, and we wish you a wonderful and well-deserved retirement!
