On November 9, we participated in the National Plastic Congress. How can we collectively make progress towards a circular plastic chain? The central theme was ‘actions speak louder than words,’ which perfectly aligns with our core values!
In 2023, the Dutch government decided on a standard for a minimum share of non-fossil polymers/plastics. This National Circular Plastics Standard (NCPN) starts in 2027 with an expected 15 percent mandatory use of recycled and/or biobased materials, increasing to 25-30 percent by 2030. The Dutch government has allocated financial resources from the Climate Fund, namely 267 million EUR until 2030, for this purpose. The Federation NRK, representing the interests of approximately 400 companies clustered in 16 industry associations, is closely involved in this standard. Thanks in part to the efforts of the NRK, the previously proposed plastic tax has been converted into a blending obligation.
Reobijn is fully committed to the transition to a sustainable economy with a focus on reuse. We already use a considerable amount of recycled materials and welcome further encouragement in this regard.
