The costs of plastics, aluminum, paper and liquid materials used in many products reached new record levels in the first quarter of 2022, continuing the increase that started in 2021.
This is reported by Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE) and the Dutch Rubber and Plastics Industry (NRK). Continued pressure from rising energy costs and other external factors means the prices are on a new record now.
In addition, recyclers have difficulty finding sufficient waste streams, which results in increases of raw material shortages even further.
The Dutch Rubber and Plastics Industry (NRK) also sees the concerns of companies about the rising costs of raw materials, energy and transport.
